EISCAT Scientific Association: Swedish description
Document Actions
The EISCAT Scientific Association owns and operates major geophysical research instrumentation in northern Scandinavia on behalf of its associate member institutions (in Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom).
The Association aims to provide its members with access to ionospheric research facilities of the highest standard, to develop and maintain a database of high-latitude ionospheric observations, and to provide practical, relevant, and attractive research and educational opportunities.
EISCAT operates both routinely, to develop long term synoptic datasets, and in special modes, to support the research of scientists from its associate countries and elsewhere.
Observing time on any of the EISCAT facilities can be obtained through designated representatives of each of the seven EISCAT Associates. Scientists from non-member countries can also obtain observing time, free of charge, through a separate peer-review process process.
